Classical Education & Experience

“We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.”

– Plato

Bethany Parrish

Bethany Parrish grew up the eldest of eight children in a family full of life. A lifelong homeschooler, she received a classical education from a university-style classical school. It was in the small classes that her passion for Truth, Beauty, and Goodness were ignited. She immediately began her undergraduate degree at 16 and graduated with a B.A. in Classics and Humanities in 2013. She subsequently earned her Master of Arts in Literature and Humanities.

She returned to serve as the Program Director for the school she attended where she taught Latin, literature, and logic for several years before God placed on her heart to open a classical academy.

Coming from a musical family, she learned to play guitar and sing at a young age. She loves to serve the Lord with her gifts at her local church.

In 2015, she partnered with a good friend to open ImagineNation Theatre, a theatre company that serves young adults ages 13-21 in the greater Houston area.

In her spare time, she loves to hang out with friends, visit new coffee shops, travel, eat lots of good food, read at the Lanier Theological Library, and…play pickleball.

Her heart, however, belongs to her family. Bethany has been married to her incredible husband Andrew since 2013. Bethany and Andrew currently dwell in Magnolia, Texas with their four beautiful children: Temperance Chloe, Blake Caedmon, Calliope Blythe, and Persephone Marie.

Ashley Tenney

Ashley Tenney fell in love with learning at an early age, not knowing God would eventually call her to rebuild generations and disciple life-long learners.

She is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, where she received her degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and began her Masters in Curriculum & Instruction. After graduating with honors, Ashley taught for Humble and Cy-Fair ISD’s. She is also Gifted & Talented and English as a Second Language certified. While teaching, Ashley served as Technology Liaison, Team & Department Lead, Campus Program & Intervention Leader, and as a Texas Teacher-in-Training Certification Leader. Her educational leadership also included training public school staff, developing & writing curriculum, directing a private school program, and instructing for an at-risk student intervention program.

Ashley’s real-life experiences have put her in rural, suburban, broken, thriving, private, public, and even overseas classrooms. The Homeschool Classroom is where you will find her today, her truest calling.

When asked her greatest accomplishment, however, she says, “…to meet people where they are, and walk with them to where God has called each of them to be.”

Outside of her 19 years in education, she continues to serve her community as Chapter President of an International Organization, Secretary of a Non-Profit, leading bible studies at her local church, and volunteering alongside her family.

Ashley’s first passion, is her family. A self-declared homebody, she soaks in as much time with her family of 7 alongside their dogs, cats, fish, chickens, and goats, a true “funny farm.” She and her husband, Drew, are grateful parents to their 5 children, four sons and a daughter–their greatest adventure.
